Like to change the graphics on your Pioneer receiver's full-size Organic Electroluminescent (OEL) display? With a CD-PC1 PC Link Kit, you can load images onto your Pioneer receiver's faceplate that you've downloaded from your PC — from static images (in JPEG and BMP formats) to animations (in AVI formats).
The PC link kit comes with Pioneer proprietary software that give you photo editing capabilities and animation editing capabilities — download the program on the CD-ROM into your PC's hard disk, then create and edit the images and animations you wish to load into your receiver. (You can load photographs of any size and resolution since the software program will compress and change the color to fit in the OEL screen.)
Connect the PC Link main unit to your computer with the included cable — your receiver's faceplate snaps into the PC Link main unit and accepts an image from your PC. You can store up to 12 still images or 4 animations in the receiver faceplate — the face has 2MB of built-in memory. (More factory animations and photos are available for downloading on the Pioneer website.)
Compatible with: DEH-P90HDD, DEH-P9400MP, and DEH-P9300 (2001) receivers.
Ability: replaces graphics on Organic EL displays with static images (in JPEG and BMP formats) or animations (AVI formats: maximum length of animation loop is 3 seconds)
System Requirements: Pentium processor (200 MHz or higher recommended) with Windows98, Windows98SE, Windows2000, or WindowsME OS
Main unit: 7-1/2"W x 1-11/16"H x 2-5/8"D
Product Overview: With the CD-PC1 PC Link kit, you can create still images, short movies, or animation loops and download them to a compatible Pioneer OEL (Organic ElectroLuminescent) display. There are additional still images and animations you can download from a special Pioneer website as well.
Compatible Head Units: PC Link is only compatible with the following Pioneer head units with the large OEL display: DEH-P90HDD, DEH-P9400MP, and DEH-P9300 (2001 model).
Creating Still Images: You can use still images in JPEG, PNG, or BMP formats. These images can be downloaded from the internet or digital still pictures you have taken. There is no limit to the size of the image, because the software will compress it down to fit the "frame" of the display.
Creating Animations: A series of still images in JPEG, PNG, or BMP formats can be captured in sequence to create an animation of 3-4 seconds. There are two types of animations: Scroll animations display a still image moving up/down or right/left; Wipe animations display two still images as if they are repainted over one another. Once downloaded to the faceplate, the animations will run in a continuous loop.
Creating Movies: You can create a short movie from images captured in AVI format from a camcorder or other means. The maximum number of images you can capture is 60, which creates a movie of 3-4 seconds in length. Once the movies are downloaded to the faceplate, they will run in a continuous loop.
Editing and Saving Images: The software will guide you through the process of converting the captured images to the format for loading into the faceplate. Before images are saved, you can insert text messages over still images or insert or delete frames into movies or animations. Once saved, an image cannot be edited further.
